My paintings intertwine inner experience and outer world. Repetition, variation and shifts in perception are central to the spaces I attempt to create. I am interested in painting the contemporary landscape as an observer and part-taker in its activities. Temporality and fluidity of the landscape are something want to materialise and comprehend in the paintings that oscillate between the recognisable and the abstract. I am particularly interested in how painting can change our perception through engagement with the material processes and the imagination.
