Summer and Celebration group exhibition took place at the Koppel Project Station in October 2022. As the curator of the project Heini King invited six fellow artists to make art works and to exhibit together in the community room of the old Hampstead police station in North London.

The theme of the exhibition, summer and celebration, functioned as indication and inspiration for making work. The pieces of work would present subjective snapshots into the first summer after two years of pandemic time. Collectively the works in the exhibition looked at the human activity of celebration and particularly the complexity of it in combining experiences of grief and contented joy, lament and exhilaration.

Participating artists in the exhibition were Huiping Yang, Nathalia Bell, Johann Don-Daniel, Juno Lee, Matt Phillips, Eleanor Sanghara Güstard and Heini King.

The exhibiting artists joined in conversation with members of the public in an open event Coffee and Buns with Artists and an accompanying workshop Rituals for Home (facilitated by Eleanor Sanghara Güstard). Discussions gave insight into the ideas and processes leading into the work.
