SKETCHES AND ANECDOTES FROM THE STUDIO

Over the past eleven months my studio walls had become like a giant sketchbook. For a few days, while packing ready to move, I improvised a performative exhibition posting sketches and anecdotes from the studio. I invited my followers (and anybody else as my account is public) to join me on my Instagram account (@heinimariaking) 21 - 25 July 2021 as I shared some snapshots into my influences and creative processes. The resulting work, a set of 19 Instagram posts that utilised the combination of image and language evolved into an independent work, an expanded painting that researches form somewhere in the area of a realtime artist’s manifesto, performance, a studio visit and a Dadaist poem.
