Kingfisher on Hampstead Heath (North London) was a participatory project that I co-ordinated for 5 years. The aim of the weekly all day event was to bring together families interested in outdoor art activities and play. The free project offered peer support for carers and an opportunity for inner city children to spend time outdoors in all weather conditions. If they wished parents and carers were invited to join a rota to prepare a shared activity relevant to their interests or field of expertise. A typical Kingfisher day had between ten and sixty participants. The publicity happened in social media and through word of mouth. Images: Heini King and other participants of Kingfisher
